Coatham Surgery is a 2 partner practice. The partners are supported by a fantastic nursing team and dedicated administrative team.

Dr E J Summers – MBChB (Leeds 1984), DRCOG, MRCGP

Dr Summers joined Coatham Surgery in 1989.

Dr S Zaman – MBChB (Manchester 2009), MRCGP

Dr Zaman joined Coatham Surgery in 2017.

Dr K Pang – MBChB (Leeds 2010), MRCGP, DRCOG

Dr Pang joined Coatham Surgery as a Salaried GP in 2016.

GP Registrars

The registrars join the practice for periods of six or twelve months and are trained under the supervision of Dr. Zaman.

The Registrars for training purpose may video consultations. If you are booked into one of these consultations you will be made aware by the receptionist and a consent form will be completed. You may feel that you do not wish to be on the video, this will not affect your care, however, we do ask that you make the doctor aware.

Nurse Practitioners (NP)

Nurse practitioners (NPs) manage acute and chronic medical conditions, both physical and mental, through history and physical exam and the ordering of diagnostic tests and medical treatments. NPs are qualified to diagnose medical problems, prescribe medications and make referrals for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions within their scope of practice. In addition to building upon and expanding their nursing knowledge and skills, the nurse practitioner also learns medicine and uses medical diagnoses and will treat accordingly. The Nurse Practitioners attached to this surgery are extremely competent clinicians and have vast experience in their field and are fully supported by the GPs in the surgery

Midwife – Rose Joy RGN, RM

After you pregnancy has been confirmed by a positive home pregnancy test, please ring the surgery to arrange your first antenatal appointment which occurs at around 8 weeks. Rose will look after you for the duration of your pregnancy and up to 28 days after the birth.

Practice Management

The Practice Manager has overall responsibility for the management of the Practice; including: personnel management, administration, finance, provision of service, facilities management,
Health and Safety, security and training.

The Practice Manager supports the Partners and pro-actively manages the Practice in providing an efficient and effective way by developing the quality of service to patients, reviewing practice
performance and contributing to the future development of the practice.
